Data we handle
- Compose field text: Read only when you open the @im panel or click Improve on a supported chat site.
- Improved prompts and scores: Stored locally in
chrome.storage.localfor on-device history and panel state. - Not collected: Browsing history, already-sent chat messages, unrelated page content, or account credentials.
- Not sold or shared: Data is not sold to third parties and is not transmitted off-device by default.
Chrome extension
The One-Click Improve browser extension runs agent preflight locally in your browser. It reads text from the active chat compose field only when you open the overlay or click Improve. It does not read your full browsing history, messages you already sent, or page content outside the compose area.
- Local processing: Prompt improvement uses the bundled local engine by default. No API key is required.
- Local storage: Scores, improved prompts, and recent history are stored in
chrome.storage.localon your device. - No telemetry by default: The extension does not send prompts or scores to improv.sh or third parties unless you opt into future cloud features.
- Host permissions: The extension only runs on supported AI chat sites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Copilot, and Poe) to inject the @im overlay.
improv.sh website
The improv.sh landing page serves install scripts and extension assets. Downloading the browser extension zip or install script does not require an account. Standard web server logs may record IP address, user agent, and requested URL.
